Announcing Grant Arnold Palmer

So at 2:00 am Tuesday morning we headed off to the hospital for Angela to be induced. After an ultrasound on Friday the doctor determined that the amniotic fluid was low and that it was time for Grant to come. Around 2:30 they started the induction and by 5:30 she was progressing on her own, and around 7:30 her doctor broke her water and she received her epidural. Over the next 2 hours they were having trouble monitoring the baby's heart rate so they decided to put a sensor on the baby's head which would allow a more accurate reading. They also discovered that with each contraction Angela would have, the baby's heart rate would decrease.



Over the next two hours Angela was in active labor. As it came time for the baby to come the doctor determined she had 3 options to get the baby out: c-section, forceps, or vacuum. Because Angela did not like any of the options she asked to push just one more time. The doctor (thankfully) granted her wish. So on Tuesday June 30th @ 9:37 am Grant Arnold Palmer was born. He weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 inches long. And he is doing great.
