Joseph has as hard of a schedule this semester as the fall. It seems worse because we both got burned out last semester and seeing him go again to classes that don't make sense and teachers who don't like to teach has been extremely frustrating. We continue to wonder if going on and doing a Masters Program in Architecture (for 3 years) is really worth it. The two classes this semester that are a bummer are strength and materials (which is physics and calculus put together), and Matlab (which is a computer programming class); not to mention the five other classes he is taking.
I am taking two classes this semester. Joseph takes care of Grant every MWF morning for an hour and M afternoon for an hour and my aunt Sheree, bless her heart, takes care of him on W for an hour. I am taking a Family Communication class and a Mediation coarse. They are pretty descent. I like my teacher and I should be able to do well in the classes. The only thing that is a bummer for me is that I found out that I don't have just two more classes to take before I have my bachelors degree but I have 5-6 classes left. So I have decided to take four classes in the summer (mostly online courses) and then two classes in the fall. We both are planning to graduate in the fall of 2010 and I really don't want us to be stuck down here in Cedar any longer than needed be.
So onto the more interesting topic: Grant. He continues to get bigger every day. It about kills my back to put him in his Baby Bjorn now and pack him around. I'm sure he's just 16-18 lbs but when he started at 6 lbs THAT'S HEAVY. Grandma Palmer noticed his first two bottom teeth coming in the day before Christmas (which makes sense of his drooling and ornery behavior). Since then two more teeth have pushed through. They are on the top (which made a few sleepless nights for mom and dad) but they are the teeth that are on the sides of the front teeth. So we have a little jack-o-lantern for a son. He gets up on his knees and sways front and back so he could be crawling here in the next month or so. Dang, we hoped that we wouldn't have to do the baby-proofing of the apartment until summer (or not at all -yeah right). He continues to giggle and smile on a daily basis which makes up for all the hard times we both go through with school, work, and house-cleaning.
To be honest, life is hard but we have faith that it will get better. Won't it? Thanks for your patience. The Palmer Family
What a cutie! Sorry things are so stressful and crazy right now. :)
