It's been a while

I felt that I should probably post something after nearly nine months has gone by since our last posting. We finished school at SUU, so Joseph and I both have our Bachelor's degrees. His is in CAD/CAM with an emphasis in architecture and mine is in Communications. Since last October we have let out the news to our families that we are expecting another little Palmer. Grant will have a little brother and may share the same birthday as they share the same due date (lol).

A lot of the reason we haven't posted was due to the stress of school and then moving to Price to await news as to where we will go from there. Joseph applied to three Architecture schools and sadly did not get into any of them. At one school there was about 30 openings and about 200 applicants. We had not expected it to be so difficult. We assume that due to the crappy economy that many people are going back to school. So, it was really sad to hear from all of the schools so we reassessed our possibilities and looked at options and decided to apply for jobs whether to work as a career or to work a year and then apply for schools again. I did not believe in giving up on the schools (I feared that Joseph would find a good enough job as a career starter and forget about school for several years or forever) so I looked into having him go and get his bachelor's degree. Surprisingly enough one can take the architecture exam with only a bachelor's in Architecture as long as the bachelors is NAAB (national accreditation architecture board) approved. We came across the University of Arizona (the only school somewhat close to us that we would apply) in Tucson and decided to call them up. They did not having any openings in their Bachelor's program but they did have a few in their Master's program. We were so excited! Joseph quickly applied and about two weeks to a month later we received notice that he was accepted.

We have moved to Arizona as of now, although Joseph and I are apart. Because of the timeliness of this little baby and Joseph starting his summer semester next week, we decided that it would be best if Grant and I stayed up in Price while Joseph goes to school during the summer, comes up for the baby's birth (hopefully around the 4th of July), and then I return to my new home in Tucson with my little boys a few weeks later. Everything is not set in stone as of yet but that is where we are as of now.

I hope to keep you posted, vaguely, as to what is going on in our lives. Sorry there are no pictures yet but I can guarantee some in the future. We will see how diligent I am at this because I will be the one posting with obvious assumptions as to why. And if I don't post (especially after the baby's birth) all that often you can understand why as well.

We would like to thank all of our friends' and families' support in all of these changes in our lives. What a blessing it is to have such close kin.
